The Coronavirus pandemic has hit America hard. With a consistent lack of testing and the rising number of quarantine protesters, those who live with healthcare workers fear that the irresponsibility will steepen the curve. Sharon Miller, a mother of 6 and wife to a local physician, explains what it's like to be living through this historic time. "My biggest fear is that my husband will get it, and could even give it to me. He faces it every single time he steps into work, like at every shift he is face to face with this virus, and I hear about how he and his partners are using the same N95 over and over again," but she elaborates with a bit of positivity as she continues, "I'm reducing my anxiety by increasing my communication with him, so that I have peace of mind knowing that he's taking precautions at work and staying protected. Also that we have a protocol in place and a routine he follows so that he's not going to expose our family to the virus." As she elaborates, Miller makes certain that the pandemic, though stressful, has its share of silver linings. This period can be utilized as a time to delve into hobbies that one didn't necessarily have time for before social distancing, Miller explains "I've picked up sewing again because I wanted to sew masks for the hospitals. It's fun and I get to help out my husband and the healthcare community." Moreover, she recognizes this time as an opportunity for quality time with her family, "It's nice that we get to spend more time together watching movies, doing puzzles, stuff like that. Life has really slowed down and its nice to get back to basics."
